Thumb Rule:
I read on Ankur Gupta's website www.ankur-gupta.com/blog that NIT first counseling goes up to 8000 AIR while second counseling goes up to 12000 AIR. From this I inferred that at whatever rank a subject finishes in the first counseling, say AIR 10000 for instance, there is a good chance that it will finally go around 50% more of that rank, ie. 15000 in this case. To be realistic you can expect a difference of 25-50% I guess...

go for LNMIIT CSE...dont even think twice.
I am going for JIIT CSE which is at par with LNMIIT, more or less. Both are very new and growing really fast, in fact JIIT may be growing a bit faster. I am taking it up because of Delhi preference. Had I not had a preference for Delhi I would have gone for NIT Allahabad Civil most probably. NIT A Civil as of now is a safer and better bet especially considering the fact that civil from a good place is about as well paid as CSE.

I feel LNMIIT is better than JAYPEE, but since it is your admission period, you must have researched which one is growing faster.
Civil anywhere, be it NIT or not, will get a good pay because INDIA lacks civil engineers today and is indeed in great demand!
Yes, at the moment LNM is slightly better than JIIT, but not too much. I don't want to leave Delhi, so... Besides as far as I think JIIT probably has a faster rate of growth, I could be wrong too. Anyway, both are comparable institutes.
Also, Civil has meaning only if done from a good place, Top 7 NITs, IITs, BITS, DCE, PEC, Thapar etc.

LNM has the Brand 'Laxmi Mittal' attached to it.yeah ur right about top 7 for civil...i dont think it should be tough for a person to even get a civil in an NIT and ur getting NIT allahabad.Well yes nobody would want to leave delhi, true!Good luck then, for your next 4 years at JIIT.
JIIT is also from Jaypee Group. Yeah, I expect all these pvt colleges to be placed much better in the future. Anyway, thanks!
